Historical mosques have an important place in cultural societies and many of them are under protection. Mosques differ from other buildings because they are used discontinuously according to prayer times and have different user densities during the day. As in other buildings, comfort conditions should be ensured at optimum values in historical mosque buildings. The building's energy consumption should also be taken into account while maintaining optimum conditions. In this research, thermal comfort study was carried out by using PMV model of Fanger in Trabzon Çarşı Mosque, which is located in Ortahisar districf of central Trabzon and the biggest mosque of the region. Study consist of four stages; experimental measurements, survey study, thermal camera view and simulation. Experimental measurements were carried out in August 2018 and February 2019 for one week in summer and winter. The surveys and thermal camera were conducted simultaneously. With the data obtained from the measurements, existing model made with IES-VE program was calibrated. Different scenarios have been proposed to improve thermal comfort conditions in historical stone mosques. These scenarios consist of different types of glass, roof insulation, interior wall insulation, and natural ventilation scenarios for the cooling period. The data obtained from alternative scenarios were compared with the existing data and the changes in thermal performance and energy consumption of the mosque were analyzed.
