Assoc. Prof. Dr. Emrah Atar is a faculty member in the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University. He currently serves as the Head of the Department of Political Science and Public Administration and Head of the Division of Urbanization and Environmental Problems, and also holds the position of International Relations Coordinator of the university, contributing to the development of national and international academic collaborations.
His main research interests include governance, migration, urban policies, and the environmental challenges faced by modern societies. He has conducted extensive research particularly on climate change, migration dynamics, and sustainable development, adopting an interdisciplinary perspective in his work. His academic contributions include numerous articles published in national and international peer-reviewed journals, book chapters, and papers presented at scientific conferences.
In addition to his academic research, he is actively involved in editorial work. He serves as Book Review Editor for International Migration Review, Associate Editor for the Journal of Academic Value Studies, and Section Editor for the International Journal of Economics, Business and Policy.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Atar received his PhD in Development Policy and Management from The University of Manchester (UK) and his MSc in Public Administration from the University of Illinois at Chicago (USA). His graduate education was supported by the Republic of Türkiye under the Law No. 1416 (YLSY Scholarship Program).
