Özet

In this study, waste sanding dusts. were used for particleboard manufacturing. The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of waste sanding dusts usage and formaldehyde/urea mole ratio of urea formaldehyde adhesive on the physical (thickness swelling) and mechanical (modulus of rupture, modulus of elasticity and internal bond strength) of the particleboard panels. 10 and 15% waste sanding dusts usage improved the physical and mechanical properties. Increasing waste sanding dusts usage amount from 15 to 20 and 25% negatively affected all of the properties of particleboard panels. It has been concluded that waste sanding dusts could be used as a raw material. However, waste sanding dust usage amount should not exceed the certain limits related to formaldehyde/urea mole ratio. The formaldehyde/urea mole ratio was found to be effective on the properties of particleboard. Increasing formaldehyde/urea mole ratio significantly improved the physical and mechanical properties of particleboard.
