Irrigation water salinity and soil salinity are the most important factors affecting yield, quality and crop growth throughout the world. The present study was conducted in an unheated greenhouse to determine the effects of different substrate and salinity levels on yield and flower quality parameters of standard cut rose (Rosa odorato cv. First Red). In this research, in order to investigate the effects of different substrates and salinity stress on physiological characteristics and yield of rose, an experiment was conducted as factorial, in which the main factor was substrate (50% peat + 50% perlite, 75% cocopeat + 25% perlite and 25% zeolite + 75% peat) and the sub factor was salinity stress (S-1=1.5 dS m(-1) (control), S-2= 3.0 dS m(-1), S-3 =4.5 dS m(-1) and S-4 =6.0 dS m(-1),) with 3 replications. Saline water was prepared using NaCl and CaCl2. It was observed that substrate and salinity levels interaction had significant effects on yield, stem length, stem thickness, and bud length except for bud diameter. Maximum yield were obtain in the S-1 salinity level and mixing of 50% peat + 50% perlite substrate. High levels of salinity caused a reduction in N, P, K, Ca, and Fe and increased B, Na and Cl concentration in leaves. It is concluded that Rosa odorato cv. First Red can not tolerate higher irrigation water salinity and should be irrigated with water having electrical conductivity less than 2.0 dS m(-1).
