Özet

The effects of paclobutrazol applications by three different methods (foliar spray, soil drench and dipping) using five different concentrations (control, 1.25, 2.5, 5.0 and 10.0 mg plant(-1)) on growth and flowering characteristics of A. robertianum were studied. Bulbs were planted into 20 cm pots (one bulb per pot) filled with a medium made of 1 peat: 1 perlite in volume. Paclobutrazol was applied either to the bulbs by dipping or to the plants as a foliar spray and soil drench when they had reached the 5 leaf stage. The application doses of paclobutrazol had a clear effect on the growth and flowering of A. robertianum. It was determined that paclobutrazol was more effective at higher concentrations, while the application of paclobutrazol at dose of 2.5 mg plant-1 shortened the number of days from planting to flowering. Flower stem length, flower head diameter, leaf number, leaf length significantly decreased with increased doses of paclobutrazol. The application methods of paclobutrazol were not statistically different on plant growth and flowering. Flower head diameter, on the other hand, increased due to the paclobutrazol treatments.
