INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE “ENSURING SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTION THROUGH MITIGATION AND ADAPTATION OF GLOBAL CLIMATE CHANGE”, cilt.1, sa.1, ss.134-138, 2024 (Düzenli olarak gerçekleştirilen hakemli kongrenin bildiri kitabı)
Blueberries are one of the most popular berries consumed by people around the world. There are large areas of blueberry cultivation especially in the northern regions of America and Europe. In addition to these areas, blueberries are also cultivated in many other countries in the world, but climate change is more effective in newly planted blueberry areas. Therefore, changes in ecological conditions such as soil properties, temperature, humidity, insolation and similar ecological conditions may have positive or negative effects on the distribution areas of different varieties. In addition to projections based on many meteorological factors, it is necessary to identify varieties suitable for new areas. In addition, resistance to climatic changes will be the most important breeding criterion when developing new varieties. New climatic conditions that may occur have the potential to increase stress in plants and cause an increase in diseases and pests. It is also seen that different regions may come to the forefront in terms of yield and marketing.
