Helichrysum is a genus belonging to the Asteraceae family and there are about 600 known species. Its tiny yellow flowers are specially grown in garden decorations and parks due to their eye-catching beauty. Since it retains its golden color even after drying, it is among the most popular flowers of the floristry industry. Although it is a plant of European origin, it is mostly known in Anatolia. It has been used by many different cultures and people for healing purposes. From the immortal flower; Products such as essential oil and herbal tea are produced. In addition, thanks to the richness of flavones, resin, tannins, coumarin and essential oils, it has entered the content of many medicines. The seed material used in our study was collected from the natural flora of Kars during their maturation period. In the research, different nutrient media were prepared to initiate shoots and callus. Based on obtained data all plant parts from which the explants were taken showed different responses to the application of plant growth regulators. Considering the percentage callus formation rates, the highest rates among the explant parts were taken from root explants. While the highest percentage of callus formation was determined as 87.5 % in root explants cultured in 1 mg/L TDZ + 0.1 mg/L ZEA medium, the lowest rate was found as 40 % in control medium (MS). On the basis of the explant, stem explants gave a higher callus formation percentage rate than leaf explants. Callus formations were found in the range of 81.3-35.7% in stem explants and 51.7-24% in leaf explants. When the percentage plant formation rates were examined, the highest rates among the explant parts were taken from root explants. The highest percentage of plant formation in root explants cultivated in 1 mg/L TDZ + 0.1 mg/L ZEA medium was found as 88.9 %, while the lowest rate was found as 50 % in control medium. The plant formation rate in stem explants was 87.1-44.0%, and the plant formation rate in leaf explants was 60.0-16.7%. This study supported by TUBITAK 2209A project.
