Abstract

This paper presents a study on the FLiBe salt cooled small modular nuclear reactor integrated hydrogen production system with PEM electrolyser. In this context, the cooling and power generation cycles of an 8 MW modular nuclear reactor with LiF-BeF2 salt as the main coolant were integrated with hydrogen production system with PEM electrolyzer. As a result, the net power production and energy efficiency of the system were calculated to be 3.25 MW and 40.6%, respectively. Using a 1 MW PEM electrolyzer in the system, it was determined that 16.61 kg/h of H2 was produced.
