About

The Georgian Studies Research Group, established within Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University, is an academic research group with a focus on political science and international relations. The group aims to conduct in-depth, interdisciplinary, and comparative studies on Georgia’s domestic and foreign politics.

As Turkey’s Black Sea neighbor, Georgia constitutes a significant field of study due to its strategic location, democratic transformation experience, processes of rapprochement with the EU and NATO, and involvement in regional conflicts. In this context, our research group seeks to contribute not only to the academic community but also to policymakers and the broader public.
