Özet:

With the increasing dependence on the internet and cloud computing, data centres become an important part of telecommunication. Therefore, data centre providers need to extend their data centres without lowering their performance and increasing the cost. Cloud computing and other applications that generate in-network traffic, have started constituting 90% of the total data centre traffic. To compensate for this, data centres need to build with flat topologies and provide more bandwidth at the aggregation level. Taking advantage of optical fabrics is becoming more popular in data centre architecture design. In order to meet future requests of the data centre, optical fabrics are already being utilised in data centres to increase scalability, reduce latency, provide high-bandwidth with lower costs. However, optical fabrics have some implementation problems. Therefore, some hybrid solutions provided in addition to full optical and electrical designs. In this project, cutting-edge and conventional data centre architecture designs are analysed critically in terms of scalability, flexibility, latency, throughput and cost-effectiveness. In addition, optical and hybrid fabrics are used in Data centres were investigated. Conventional Three-Tier, switch-centric Fat-Tree and server-centric DCell architectures were implemented on OMNET++ with using INET framework to make a quantitave comparison.
