Özet

Solar chimney power plants are remarkable with their simple structure and operating principle based on basic physical laws. This system, which consists of a collector, chimney and turbine and allows generating electricity directly from solar energy, attracted great attention from researchers after its first application in Manzanares. The semi-transparent collector increases the temperature by allowing the solar radiation falling on it to reach the system air and then to the ground. The high chimney in the center creates a constant pressure difference and ensures the evacuation of system air. Meanwhile, the system air passing over the turbine inside the chimney provides power output. After the theoretical details of the system are given, experimental studies, climatic and geometric parameters are evaluated separately. Criticism is made for the parameters with comparative data in the literature. Finally, hybrid systems are discussed and interpreted for future studies.
