Qur'an is revealed to bring mankind out of darknesses into the light and because of that it must be read and understand. In this context "reading" must include "understanding". "Reading" is expressed with the words of qiraat, tartil, and tilavath in the Qur'an. These three words points out the dimension towards understanding of "reading". However, another aspect of reading is the listening. Listening implies not only hearing of sounds but also comprehending and putting into practice of words which heard. The aim of listening the verses is understanding and leaving. Because of that, we consider that it must be important to give preference the "reading".
