Abstract

Abstract/Özet:

This thesis analyses how Kurdish lobbying in the US and UK tried to utilize the political opportunities created by the Syrian Conflict. Situated with the wider field of ethnic lobbying, it focuses on strategic framing as crucial part of successful ethnic lobbying. The thesis, therefore, seeks to understand how the PKK-PYD has strategically framed the Syrian Conflict and whether these strategic frames resonate with policymakers and the media discourse in the US and the UK when compared with the strategic counter frames employed by the Turkish government.
