Özet

The tea plant (Camellia sinensis L.) is sensitive to climatic conditions, particularly excessive heat and intense sunlight. Shading can protect tea plants from these environmental stresses, enhancing their health and productivity. Shading effectiveness depends on the material’s color, thickness, texture, and type. Color influences light transmission and distribution, while thickness determines the shading intensity and controls light and temperature. Texture and material type affect air permeability and water evaporation. Shading can also impact the concentration of bioactive compounds in tea, such as flavonoids and theanine. Flavonoids, antioxidants, help plants cope with stress and enhance tea’s health benefits. Theanine, an amino acid, influences tea's flavor. This study systematically evaluates the effects of shading materials of different colors, thicknesses, and textures on tea plants. The research seeks to determine how shading parameters affect growth, yield, quality, and bioactive compounds in tea, contributing to more effective and sustainable shading strategies for tea cultivation.
