Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic, many countries, including Turkey, switched from formal education to distance education in the spring semester of the 2019-2020 academic year. During this period, curfews were implemented within the scope of social distance protection measures. Distance education, which was started urgently, caused a change in teaching methods and practices. The long duration of the epidemic process has limited the time allocated to learning and the learning opportunities of students. The aim of the research is to get the experiences of prospective social studies teachers during the epidemic process and their views on this process. The research, which was designed as a case study, was carried out with the participation of 151 prospective teachers from seven different universities in Turkey. Content analysis of the data obtained with the semi-structured interview form was analyzed. The results of the research show that the prospective teachers in distance education during the epidemic process, access to the internet, supply of materials, providing a learning environment, learning difficulties, etc. showed that they had difficulties due to various reasons. At the same time, it has been revealed that the distance education process has benefits such as learning independent of time and place, improving research, reading and learning skills.
