Bathymetric changes occurring in the seas cause some depth deviations,
especially on upper shore face. Detecting the continuous development of
sediment transport depending on the climate changes also paves the way for
measures that can be taken against shoaling or erosion on the coasts. In this
study, the usability of Bathymetry Created with General Bathymetric Chart of
the Oceans tested on the near shore as an alternative to traditional bathymetric
measurement methods was tested. As a result, it has been observed that the
bathymetry obtained by traditional methods is higher resolution and usable
than the Bathymetry Created with the General Bathymetric Chart of the Oceans
and that they are not an alternative to each other.
