In this study, the characteristic properties of CdS thin films produced by chemical spray pyrolysis method
were investigated by doping B/Cd elements in different ratios (10-1, 10-2, 10-3) during the growth process.
As a result of doping from X-Ray diffraction patterns (XRD), it was observed that no new phases were
formed in CdS samples, while decreases in crystal lattice parameters were observed depending on the
doping ratio. However, as the additive ratio increased, it was determined that the films mainly grew in the
direction of the (002) plane of the hexagonal structure. AFM measurements showed that the samples had
a smoother and homogeneous structure depending on the contribution ratio. While it is seen from the
electrical measurements that the samples have n-type electrical conductivity, decreases in the resistivity
values have been detected due to the increase in the charge carrier densities depending on the
contribution ratio. The results showed that it is important to use boron doped CdS thin films as optical
windows in solar cells.
