Air traffic controllers are trained by receiving theoretical and practical training within the scope of the procedures and documents determined and published by national and international authorities. Air traffic trainings, carried out by instructors who are competent in their fields and have the necessary certifications, are planned and implemented to meet the needs of the aviation industry. Air traffic simulation trainings have an important role in the training processes of trainees. Trainees are prepared for working conditions, potential risks and emergency situations thanks to the training scenarios prepared in simulations. The effective creation and implementation of training environments, training materials and training scenarios in this context directly affects the effectiveness of the training processes of air traffic controllers. In addition, determining and evaluating the competencies and skills of instructors also affects the effectiveness of training processes. In this study, air traffic controller training processes and training environments were examined. The status of the scenarios, materials and training contents used in training environments was analyzed and the extent to which trainees were affected by these processes was examined. By examining to what extent these processes coincide with the current expectations of the aviation industry, the competencies and skills that instructors have been discussed. The deficiencies related to the subject were also identified and solution suggestions were presented.
