Özet

A comprehensive examination of the function of hydrogen upgrading in diesel engines is essential, as it has its benefits and challenges. Hydrogen generally improves power and torque in diesel engines and reduces harmful emissions. This study investigates the influence of hydrogen-blended diesel fuel on the combustion and emission of compression ignition engines. Numerical simulations, along with experimental validations, were carried out using Fluent 2023 R1 version software for 5 to 15% hydrogen enrichment in diesel fuel (diesel fuel, diesel fuel + 5% hydrogen, diesel fuel + 10% hydrogen, and diesel fuel + 15% hydrogen by mass). For the combustion analysis, we figured out the cylinder pressure, temperature, and cylinder heat release rate (HRR). Results showed that hydrogen-enriched ignition dramatically raises the pressure, HRR, and temperature inside the cylinder. The maximum temperature after the expansion stroke (exhaust gas temperature) increases by 30.45% with 5% hydrogen-enriched combustion.
