Özet

The rapid advancement in technologies as a result of an increase in customer expectations results in undesirable effects on nature, such as global warming, which is a huge threat for future generations. Consequently, the manufacturing sector is under extreme pressure to balance the supply-demand problems along with dealing with environmental problems like climate change. It compels us to explore solutions in order to balance factory operation and environmental responsibility. Green manufacturing is a solution that focuses on overcoming the negative impact of manufacturing systems. It is a set of strategies and techniques that focuses on minimising pollution, wastes and environmental footprints. It also encourages using sustainable practices by environmentally friendly products. Green energy, green products and green processes in business operations are the three important aspects of green manufacturing. This chapter talks about the various aspects of green manufacturing.
