Lafız-Mana İlişkisi: İbn Cinnî’den Günümüze Bazı Yaklaşımların Değerlendirilmesi

Özet

Çalışma lafız-mana ile ilgili modern dilbilimsel çalışmalarıyla Arap dilindeki çabaların incelemesini konu edinmektedir. Bu sebeple makalenin kapsamı temel modern dilbilimsel yaklaşımlarla genel itibarıyle, kendisinden önceki yaklaşık üç asırlık birikimin bir temsilcisi olarak İbn Cinnî’nin bu meyandaki yorumlarının değerlendirmesi çerçevesinde şekillenmiştir. İbn Cinnî dışındaki bazı klasik ve modern Arap dilcilerinin bu kapsamdaki yorumlarından da istifâde edilmiştir. Çalışmanın önemi bu değerlendirmede kendisini ortaya koymaktadır. Zira modern dönemde yapılan çalışmaların ve geliştirilen kuramların öncülü olmadan ortaya çıkmadığı veya çıkamayacağı temel tezi ve bu manada elde edilmeye çalışılan neticeler çalışmanın hem gayesine hem de önemine ışık tutar mahiyette değerlendirilebilir. Bu amaca gidilirken şimdiden geçmişe doğru ters yönlü bir izlek takip edilmeye çalışıldı. Bunun sebebi, öncelikle mevcut durumun görülmesi, genel hatlarının ortaya konulması ardından da bu hatların aslında tamamıyla aynı olmamakla beraber geçmişte de fark edildiğinin ve yer yer çok güçlü ve belirgin bir şekilde altlarının çizildiğinin tespit edilmesi düşüncesidir. Biz bu maksatla giriş kısmında öncelikle genel hatlarıyla lafız-mana, lafızdan manaya giderken uygulanan soyutlama ve bunun neticesinde bahsi geçen kavram mefhumları üzerinde durduk. Bu, mananın arka planda üçlü bir yapı arz ettiğini ifade ediyordu. Daha sonra modern dönemde lafız-mana ilişkisinin hangi çerçevede ele alındığını ve bu ele alışların hangi yaklaşımları ortaya çıkardığına işaret ettik. Araştırmanın ana omurgasını oluşturan diğer başlıklarda lafız-mana ilişkinin yine üçlü bir yapı arz edecek şekilde; kelime, dil içi ve dil dışı karîneler muvâcehesinde değerlendirilmesi şeklinde teşekkül etmiştir. Neticede görülmüştür ki İbn Cinnî’nin çalışmaları ışığında aslında her üç aşamada da manayı belirleyen, manaya tesir ederek onun anlam alanını genişleten veya daraltan unsurlara dair oldukça güçlü bir idrakin olduğu görülür.
The study examines the linguistic efforts in the Arabic language in light of modern research on the word-meaning relationship. For this reason, the scope of the article is shaped by the evaluation of Ibn Jinni’s comments on this matter, as a representative of the approximately three centuries of accumulation before his time with basic modern linguistic approaches. Some classical and modern Arabic linguists other than Ibn Jinni have also benefited from their interpretations in this context. The importance of the study reveals itself in this evaluation. Because the basic thesis that the studies and theories developed in the modern period did not or could not have emerged without a predecessor and the results were tried to be obtained in this sense can be evaluated as shedding light on both the purpose and the importance of the study. While pursuing this goal, an attempt was made to follow a reverse path from the present to the past. The reason for this is the idea that firstly the current situation should be seen in its general outlines which should be revealed, and then these outlines should be determined, although they are not exactly the some they have been noticed in the past and in fact they have been underlined very strongly and clearly in some places. For his purpose in the introduction we first focused on the Word-meaning in general terms the abstraction applied to meaning and the conceptual concepts mentioned as a result. This was an expression of the triple structure of meaning in the background. Then we pointed out the framework within which the word-meaning relationship was discussed in the modern period and what approaches these discussions brought forth. The other headings that form the backbone of the research have been derived by evaluating the word-meaning relationship in terms of intra and extra-lingual evidence again presenting a triple structure. As a result, it was seen that Ibn Jinni had a very strong understanding of the elements that determine the meaning in all three stages and that influence it and expand or narrow the field of meaning.
