Özet

This paper focuses on foreign policies pursued by the US administrations towards the countries in the continental America within the scope of grand strategies during the periods of Donald Trump and Joseph Biden. It tries to explain what type of foreign policy the Trump and Biden administrations followed towards countries in the Americas. Data was collected through the material used by those Presidents during their election campaigns, the National Security Strategy documents of those administrations and reports and evaluation papers of the US think-tanks. The paper indicates that the Trump administration followed a foreign policy towards the countries in the continent of America with regard to the new isolationist grand strategy, while the Biden administration preferred a liberal internationalist approach. Findings indicate that both administrations attempted to deal with issues of illegal immigration and drug trafficking organized by transnational criminal organizations, but they followed different ways to sort those issues out.
