Özet

Factitious disorder is characterized by intentionally production of illness signs and symptoms to assume sick role. It can present with physical and/or psychological signs and symptoms. Factitious disorder is coded according to the subtype that characterizes the predominant symptoms; psychological, physical, with combined psychological and physical signs and symptoms and factitious disorder not otherwise specified (factitious disorder by proxy is included in this category). Factitious disorder and factitious disorder by proxy comorbidity is rare. In this paper we present a thirty two years-old woman who intentionally caused scalding on her three years old daughter body. Factitious disorder and factitious disorder by proxy comorbidity is addressed within the framework of the patientpast psychiatric and medical history discussed in the light of psychodynamic theories. Also in this paper we wanted to announce the comorbidity of factitious disorder and factitious disorder by proxy is higher than expectations.
