This paper examines taʿbīr al-ruʾyā (dream interpretation) in the letters of Muḥammad Naṣūḥī within the context of understanding the process of sayr wa sulūk. Sufis express their spiritual states mostly through a symbolic language. The expression of abstract concepts such as love, spirit, and intellect through concrete symbols constitutes one of the fundamental forms of expressing the experience of sulūk. However, this situation makes it difficult to directly understand the dreams seen and the states experienced by the sālik (disciple), and necessitates their proper interpretation. In Sufi life, the fact that spiritual experiences are often kept hidden limits the external observation of the sayr wa sulūk process and its transmission to the present. At this point, the letters of Muḥammad Naṣūḥī stand out as an exceptional and unique source. In the correspondences between the sālik and the murshid (spiritual guide), the recording of the spiritual states experienced by the sālik and the interpretations given to them, in accordance with the principle “write completely so that it may remain as a legacy,” provides a rare source of knowledge regarding the hidden dimension of Sufi experience. The aim of this study is to reveal the function of dream interpretation in the letters of Naṣūḥī and to evaluate their contribution to understanding Sufi experience. In this context, the letters related to dream interpretation were examined through textual analysis. The study demonstrates that dreams are interpreted as anfusī (inner) and āfāqī (outer), that in some letters more than one interpretation is present, and that dream interpretation functions not only as an explanatory tool but also as a means of training and guiding the murīd. It is also observed that Naṣūḥī bases dream interpretation on the Qurʾān and the Sunna and does not give importance to practices such as jafr and wafq. As a result, dream interpretation in these letters functions as a written and systematic method of guidance and constitutes a unique source for understanding the process of sayr wa sulūk.
