Abstract

Abstract

The parotid is the major salivary gland that perform a significant part of saliva production. As a result of radiotherapy used in the treatment of head and neck cancer, it can often be affected and dry mouth occurs. Therefore, segmentation of the parotid gland is important. In the routine, segmentation is done manually, and automatic segmentation studies are carried out with artificial intelligence techniques developed in recent years. In this study, we performed the automatic segmentation of the parotid gland on Magnetic Resonance images with artificial intelligence techniques. The model we have developed has performed the segmentation of the parotid gland with a very high accuracy.
