Abstract

This study aims to analyze the views on Physical Education and Sport of the students who have taken the course “Physical Education and Game Teaching” and haven’t taken this course yet. 191 students, 106 girls and 85 boys, who study at Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University in the 2014-2015 academic year are the participants of the study.

       The Physical Education and Sport Attitude Scale developed by Demirtaş and Altay (2001) has been used as a data collection tool to evaluate students’ attitudes. This 24-item scale includes twelve items to assess positive attitudes and twelve items to assess negative attitudes. The highest and lowest points that can be obtained from the scale are 120 and 24, respectively.

       To analyze data, SPSS package program (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) will be used. In the study, one way ANOVA and t-test will be used for data analysis. With the help of data analysis, the answers given by the students will be evaluated and whether there is a statistical difference among attitude points towards physical education and sport will be found.
