In this paper, a sliding mode controlled buck-boost DC DC converter powered by Photo Voltaic (PV) for battery-load system is presented. The general design of the converter-load system is performed by using the Matlab/Simulink. The sliding mode is used with inductance current and output voltage for the controller and the results are compared with the fuzzy logic controller. The complete converter-load system has been developed, analyzed, and validated in the simulation. Performance has then been evaluated in detail for different operating conditions. The effects of the sliding mode controller and the PV module parameters on the controller were also compared.
