In this study, a cost-effectiveand scalablemethodfor the productionof low-layergraphene(LLG)using sodiumpercarbonate(SPC)as a greendelaminationagentand itsapplicationin fuel cells is proposed. The obtainedgrapheneshoweda decreasein signal heightin XRD analysis, indicatingthinnerlayers.Ramananalysisconfirmedthe presenceof 7−8layers of graphene.Field-emissionscanningelectronmicroscopyanalysisrevealeda uniformcrystalstructure, makingit suitableforvariousapplications.Directmethanolfuel cells (DMFCs)arewidelyrecognizedas efficientand environmentallyfriendlydevicesfor convertingchemicalenergyto electricalenergy. The utilizationof graphene-supportedplatinum(Pt) nanoparticles(NPs)ascatalystsin DMFCsenhancestheir performance. In this study, Pt-graphenecatalystswere synthesizedby the chemicalreductionmethodwith grapheneobtainedby using SPC. CharacterizationthroughXRD and SEM analysesconfirmedthe homogeneousdistributionof NPs on the carbonsupport. As a result of methanoloxidationstudies,57.73 and 21.45 mA/cm2values were obtainedby using Pt@LLGand Pt catalysts, respectively. As a result of long-term stabilityand durabilitytests, it has been found that the Pt@LLGcatalystcan be used effectivelyin metal oxidationexperiments.
