Since the Renaissance, Reformation, Enlightenment and Industrial Revolution, the world has undergone a great transformation and continues to be transformed. "Knowledge" and "technology", which used to be largely separate from each other in the past, have begun to be integrated since the 21st century. This integration has brought about radical changes in the delivery of public services, as in many other areas. At the beginning of these changes is the elimination of the human factor in service delivery to prevent human-induced problems. Apart from this, time, and space constraints, which are other obstacles in the delivery of public service, have been eliminated thanks to the integration of information and technology. In this study, these transformations, which are called e-government, have been tried to be examined in Turkey. In the study, in which the descriptive method was adopted, a general description of the digital transformation was made first and then its historical development both in the world and in Turkey was discussed. In the last part, the current e-government applications in Turkey are focused on. As a result of the evaluations, it has been understood that e-government enables many principles such as equality, efficiency, efficiency, transparency, citizen-customer-beneficiary orientation to be put into practice.
