I’m Büşra Çalmaz. I completed my Ph.D. in Computer Science at Izmir Institute of Technology in January 2025, with a thesis on “Graphlet Mining in Big Data.” Prior to that, I earned my M.Sc. in Computer Science from the same university in 2018, where I focused on analyzing social media data using frequent pattern mining methods. I began my academic career with a B.Sc. in Computer Science from Selçuk University, Konya, in 2015.
From 2016 to 2025, I worked as a Research and Teaching Assistant in the Computer Engineering Department at Izmir Institute of Technology. During this time, I contributed to courses such as Data Structures, Computer Networks, and Distributed Information Management by developing practical assignments and lab sessions to enhance student learning. I also assisted with grading and collaborated with faculty to improve course content and teaching methods. Currently, I am a Research and Teaching Assistant in the Computer Engineering Department at Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University.
My main research interests include graph mining, frequent subgraph mining, k-clique counting algorithms, and large-scale network analysis. I am passionate about applying computational techniques to solve real-world problems, particularly in social network analysis, biological motif identification, and cybersecurity. Recently, my focus has been on improving the efficiency and scalability of graph. algorithms.
