The aim of this study is to design an
argumentation-driven educational digital game to teach the “matter” subject.
Each game section includes science activities and argumentation questions that
engage students in scientific thinking skills and conceptualizing the ‘matter’
subject. Through a design-based research
method, the game was exposed to three successive pilot-studies with 12 grade 4
students in a state primary school. Given student feedbacks and game errors, we
solved all technical and pedagogical problems to eliminate any missing/unclear
point in the game. The pilot-studies suggest that the digital game enables
students to improve their argumentation skills and stimulates their interest in
science.
