Welcome to the Innovative Materials Mechanics (I’M Mech) Research Group at Recep Tayyip Erdogan University! We investigate the relationship between mechanical properties and microstructural properties of light alloys such as magnesium, aluminium, and titanium. We focus on addressing specific challenges in aerospace, automotive and implantology. Our team employ cutting-edge methodologies like X-CT (X-ray computed tomography) and electron microscopy and explore various conditions, including corrosive environments and diverse temperature ranges. Furthermore, our research extends to scrutinizing the impact of coatings and microstructural intricacies on these underlying mechanisms, enhancing our comprehensive understanding of material performance.
