Prof. ALİ İRFAN GÜZEL

Biography

Ali İrfan GÜZEL was born in 1967 in Bozhüyük town of Göksun district of Kahramanmaraş. He completed his primary education in Bozhüyük and his secondary and high school education in Kayseri Imam Hatip High School. He won the Middle East Technical University Biology Teaching Department in 1986 and graduated from there in February 1992. He worked as a Science and Biology teacher in Tunceli and Çorum Anatolian High Schools between 1992-1997. He won the Çukurova University Health Sciences Institute Medical Biology Department Master's Program in the spring term of 1997 and started to work as a Research Assistant in the Institute staff. He completed his master's degree in January 2000 and won the doctorate program in the Department of Medical Biology in the spring semester of the same year. In December 2005, he was appointed as a Teaching Assistant at Çukurova University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Medical Biology. He completed his PhD in 2006. In 2010, he started to work as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medical Biology at Recep Tayyip Erdoğan (Rize) University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Basic Medical Sciences, and received the title of Associate Professor in the same year (April 27). He was promoted to Professor on 24.06.2015.  He has served as; Members of Senate, Institute of Health Sciences, Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Dentistry, Membership of Institute/Faculty Board and Administrative Board, Members of Foreign Languages ​​High School and SHMYO Board of Directors, BAP Coordinator and TUEKK membership in Faculty of Medicine and Head of Medical Education Program Evaluation Commission. He has/has held administrative duties at Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University Faculty of Medicine as the Deputy Dean (2011-2016), Head of the Department of Basic Medical Sciences (2019 - ) and Head of the Department of Medical Biology (2010 - ).

He is married and has three children.
